Surely Dell did not design a GAMING LAPTOP whose graphics drivers are fixed and cannot ever be updated?. Therefore, it supports DirectX11 and is still manufactured in 40nm. Now, the one 'odd' thing I found was when I tried to update the Intel HD 4000 chipset driver (Switchable Graphics) for the hell of it, I got and error that led me to the Intel website that revealed that said driver (9.3.0.0) was 'fixed' by the vendor and could not be updated.! Does this mean the dedicated AMD GPU is somehow tied to the graphics chipset (due to being in a Switchable Graphics configuration perhaps?) and therefore neither graphics solutions' drivers can ever be updated? The AMD Radeon HD 7670M is a middle class graphics card for laptops and based on the same chip as the Radeon HD 6650M.

some similar reports are from as far back as a decade! I've researched this subject and I'm yet to find any solutions. Playable games for each graphics card and their average FPS. AMD Radeon HD 7660G + HD 7670M Dual Graphics 0.

If I do install one (using the AMD auto detect program), it may install the new driver (or not - it varies), but all the DirectX features become disabled - DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP Texture Acceleration (via dxdiag.exe) all "unavailable", with no way to turn them back on (*DirectX 11 is installed). The AMD Radeon HD 7770M is a 28nm DirectX 11 graphics card based on the GCN. Mine is a 7970M (2G) and it won't accept any new driver updates.
